What are Dentures or Partials?
Dentures and partials are prosthetics that are removable and can be taken out from the mouth. They commonly substitute many teeth. Dentures and partials relatively support themselves on the gum and underlying bone, and in the portion on the remaining teeth if there are any. Adaptation of dentures and partials require usually few weeks. They need adjustments from time to time.
Maintenance of Dentures and Partials?
Every after each meal, it is necessary to brush the teeth, the gums, and the prosthetics. Partials with hooks keep dental plaque, this increases the risk of cavities. Therefore a proper hygiene is a MUST.
During bedtime dentures and partials should be removed while sleeping and placed in a glass of water or in any cleaning solutions bought from drugstores. It is advisable not to wear them for 24 hours a day.
